The Yarmouk University Council of Deans approved the establishment of the "Pahang Chair for Islamic Studies" within the Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Studies at its 34th session of 2011, held on August 22, 2011.

The Chair aims to conduct scholarly research in the fields of Islamic sciences, Islamic banking and finance, Middle Eastern studies, and studies related to Islamic culture.

It also aims to facilitate the exchange of faculty members between Yarmouk University and various institutes and universities in the Malaysian state of Pahang, establish academic mechanisms for conducting individual and collaborative research by faculty members, hold scholarly seminars in areas of mutual interest, provide opportunities for students to participate in reciprocal academic visits and study and training programs, and offer postgraduate scholarships in fields specified by each university.

It is worth noting that Yarmouk University has a joint scientific and research cooperation agreement with the Malaysian state of Pahang, signed by Adnan bin Haji Yaakob, the Chief Minister of Pahang, during his visit to the university.
